Potato Head Jakarta is inviting patrons to celebrate Chinese New Year with a special offer: angpaos filled with gifts including dining vouchers, complimentary meals and even bottles of wine and spirits from January 23rd to 31st. Patrons can spend a minimum of Rp 400,000 to win to take a lucky red angpao envelope from the venue’s tree!

On January 27 to 28, Jakarta Sneaker Day will take place on the 8th floor at Senayan City. The event will feature bazaar (with more than 40 product booths), sneaker exhibition, sneaker auction, music event, door prize and sneaker custom competition.

Artoz Bar will be hosting ‘Wild Grouse Chase’ on January 27th from 7pm onwards. The exclusive dinner will feature a special The Naked Grouse blended malt scotch whisky to the lucky patrons.

Renowned Indonesian artist Lala Bohang teamed up with alumni students of Erudio School of Art (ESoA) and Dattabot’s employee and hosted an exhibition entitled ‘Remember Me’. Held at the newly opened alternative room, Dattabot Dojo, in Senopati area and will feature a myriad of interactive mix-media installations on January 28 until February 5.

Indonesian music band Sheila on 7 will be performing live on January 27th at Empirica! Starting from 7pm onwards, the tickets are priced at Rp 300,000.

Dia.Lo.Gue is hosting a fashion exhibition from today until February 5th entitled ‘Tiga Negeri: Peranakan Fashion & Collection’. The exhibition will showcase three Indonesian fashion designers’ creations, such as Edward Hutabarat, Didi Budiharjo and Adrian Gan. Timing: 10.30am until 6pm.

Rave On!

Park Bo Gum’s Concert

Bryan Adams Live Concert

What: The Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta is the perfect venue for Bryan Adams’ solo concert “The Get Up Tour”. The musical soiree at The Grand Ballroom is to promote Bryan’s latest album Get Up and highlights his evergreen hits “Heaven”, “Summer of 69” and “Run to You”. What: The National Gallery of Indonesia will stage a month-long Jakarta Contemporary Ceramic Biennale 4: “Ways of Clay” at Hall A and Hall B. 21 Indonesian and international artists share a three-month residency programme with curators Nurdian Ichsan and Rizki A. Zaelani. Doors open from 9am-4pm; free of charge.

Knowledge Day

When: January 21

Where: The Ritz-Carlton, Pacific Place

What: The Island of the Gods celebrates Saraswati: a festivity dedicated to the goddess of knowledge. It is a day where children pray and bring offerings to the temple of their school and a special occasion when the Balinese pay homage to the goddess Sarasvati and sprinkle holy water on books.

Freeze Frame

Where: The Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place

What: The Gallery Gedung Tjipta Niaga

The last day of the photo exhibition featuring the works of Isabelle Boon, a photographer from Amsterdam, on display since November 2016. She has freeze-framed details of everyday life: how people make a living, run a family, and spend the day off. Open from 10am-7pm.

ONE Championship™ (ONE) will return once again on January 14th at Jakarta Convention Centre. The fight will feature ONE Middleweight World Champion Vitaly Bigdash who will be face against Aung La N Sang from Myanmar. Timing: 7pm.

Calling all digital enthusiasts! Digital Wednesday returns this January 18th at Kaffeine SCBD Jakarta with a special guest star, Verdyka Kurniawan, the business solution manager at Google. Entitled “The Fundamentals of Search Engine Marketing”, the event will discuss the digital trends and innovations.

Nightlife Update: Pao Pao Jakarta is hosting a series of parties with three events from January 12th to 14th with myriad of music entertainment, live music by Lalahuta, Sliqq, Dunno and Downey. Basque is hosting an event called “La Fun House” on January 14th and will see the performance of DJ Jeremy Jay starting from 10pm. Jenja Jakarta is inviting Venezuelan DJs Fur Coat, famous for its passion for techno and electronic music, on January 13th, starting at 10pm.

On January 18 and 19, Brit Cham Indonesia presents Internet Retailing Expo Asia at Pullman Jakarta Central Park. The exhibitions will open from 10am to 5pm and will be back with many interesting topics and features for retailers and technology providers.
