Galeri Indonesia Kaya is hosting a special musical concert staged as heart-to-heart radio show by Indonesian singers Glenn Fredly and Ifa Fachir titled 'Bhineka Tunggal Cinta' on October 21 at its auditorium. Timing: 3-4pm.
Salihara's Literature & Ideas Festival 2017 is hosting a special music and poetry performance from young composers, Sri Hanuraga, and young poet Adimas Immanuel on October 22th. Fee: Rp 100,000.
Cinema Screening: Institut Français Indonesia is screening Les pépites on October 19th, while Hause Rooftop is screening American Psycho on October 23 from 7-9pm.
Galeri Nasional Indonesia is staging an exhibition of Suherry Arno's black and white photography works entitled "Melampaui Fotografi" from October 24 to November 5th. Curated by Jim Supangkat & Arbain Rambey, the exhibition is a joint collaboration between Galeri Nasional, D’Arno Gallery and Mahavra. Timing: 10am-7pm.
Nightlife Updates: The Safehouse Jakarta is hosting a special hip-hop night on October 20th with 'Triple Trouble'; The Rosemary is holding an underground music part on October 20th; Fat Shogun Jakarta is collaborating with Chromosound to celebrate their one year anniversary on October 25th with Sembako (Senandung Sembari Disko).
Galeri Nasional Indonesia is staging an art exhibition entitled "9 Ruang Abstrak" from October 11-30. The exhibition will showcase 25 paintings and 2 video art installations by talented artists, such as Andi Suandi, FX. Jefrrey Sumampouw and Nunung WS.

In conjunction with its fourth anniversary, Galeri Indonesia Kaya is staging a special music performance by singers Dewi Gita and Leila Sari on October 14th. The duo will be serenaded by Gamelan Irama Kesatria.
Writer Rain Chudori is launching her second book titled "Imaginary City" on October 14th. Held at Dia.Lo.Gue, the launch event will be hosted by Trash Tapes and see musical performance by Jonathan Tiele and Raka Ibrahim and will be open for public.
Kinosaurus is hosting a special Paul Agusta's movies screenings: Kado Hari Jadi (October 14th) and Parts of the Heart (October 15th). Elsewhere, on October 14th Kinosaurus will also stage, 'SSSLLL: Not Nostalgic Enough': an expanded cinema by Lab Laba Laba in 6mm, 8mm and 35mm.
Salihara is hosting a nonlinear performance and installation entitled "Xalisco, a place…" on October 14 and 15. The performance will pay tribute to great writers from Latin America which is translated into music, movement, drama and visual art forms. Fee: Rp 75,000; Time: 7.30pm.
A line of 90s Indonesian bands are coming together for a concert entitled "Festival Mesin Waktu" on October 14th. Held at The Establishment, SCBD, the concert will feature Potret, Naif, Basejam Reunion, P-Project & Bening. Ticket fee: 275,000. Time: 3pm-11pm.
Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design (ICAD) exhibition is back with 50 artists, designers, and creative individuals who will create inspiring art pieces from October 4th to November 15th. Held at grandkemang Jakarta, ICAD 2017: Murni? will also present talkshow about art, design and architecture.
On October 6th, Jiexpo Kemayoran is housing Synchronize Festival, a three-day music fiesta featuring top-ranked bands like Slank, Efek Rumah Kaca, Payung Teduh, The Sigit, Pee Wee Gaskins, Seringai, Barasuara, and Danilla. Organiser Dyandra Promosindo is setting the tickets at Rp155,000 and Rp385,000.
On October 7th, Aula Simfonia Jakarta conducted by Rebecca Tong is presenting an exclusive concert featuring maestro cellist Steven Isserlis’s interpretation of Elgar’s Cello Concerto Opus 85, Haydn’s Symphony No. 88 and Strauss’s Die Fledermaus Overture. Tickets are priced at Rp50,000, Rp300,000, Rp500,000, Rp700,000, Rp1,000,000 and Rp1,500,000.
The Awarding Night for Festival Film Nusantara is being held at Teater Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki Art Centre on October 10th. Some 25 documentary films revolving around village life, maritime affairs, humanitarian issues, youth issues and national resilience are nominated for the film festival as a tribute to the Indonesian Armed Forces Day on October 5.
A scion of K-Pop group Big Bang, Taeyang, is set to perform at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on one of the laps of his “White Night World Tour” on October 13. With a kick-off in Chba, Japan, the world tour will also visit Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Singapore and Taipei.
Pekan Raya Indonesia (PRI) returns once more from October 21 to November 5 at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City. The festival is known for its wide array of local culinary, music performances and shopping exprience. This year's music line-up include Bara Suara, Bunga Citra Lestari, Gamaliel and Kahitna.
On October 24, “Nasyah, Noktah dan Naskah”, a retrospective exhibition and a book-launching ceremony to highlight the works of Nasjah Djamin, will colour Hall B of Galeri Nasional, the National Gallery in Jakarta. The exhibition will run for two weeks—every day except Mondays, from 9am-6pm.
The Indonesia Dance Community is staging the four-day Batavia International Dance Festival at the metropolis’s favourite nightspots on October 25. Latin dancers Fernando Gracia and Sol Cerquides, and Manuel Favilla and Natalja Maidiuk, will highlight the dance festival, which will draw participants from Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
On October 30, the internationally acclaimed Tango in Paradise returns with an Indonesia-Argentina cultural blend featuring Batik and Prada. The four-evening episode will bring together tango maestros Pablo Giorgini y Noelia Coletti, world tango champion Stefano di Filippo y Dasha Chesnokova, and Moscow’s Solo Tango Orquesta. Venue: Hotel Kumala Pantai, Padma Bali Resort.
