The spotlight is nothing new to Melania Trump as she had begun modeling since the age of five and starred in a commercial at the age of 16 back in Slovenia. Her role and contribution as a first lady of the United States, however, will go under even more scrutiny.
The first ladies’ duties are not limited to being a hostess; she is also in charge of social and ceremonial events at the White House while supporting her husband's presidency and doing good deeds for the American society—all delivered while looking and being the best example to the people. Let’s take a look back at Mrs Trump’s style evolution from 16 years ago until today.
Simply sparkling in a sky-blue dress with see-through lace neckline, Melania, who just recently went public about her relationship with Donald, paired that early-2000 messy waves with smoky eye-shadow and simple accessories to attend the opening of Aida, the musical, in New York City.
The Trumps got engaged in 2004; here they arrived at the annual Met Gala in which Melania appeared with a simple makeup to compliment her lacy-corseted ballgown, diamond accessories and flowing black locks.
In 2010, now a mum to toddler Barron Trump, Melania chose a simply elegant black frock with sparkling-waist detail to attend the the 14th Annual ACE Awards presented by the Accessories Council in New York City.
Spotted in an electric blue sheath dress that showed-off her tanned skin, Melania arrived at a Celebrity Apprentice event in 2014.
Fast forward to the recent Inaugration Ball in which the new first lady wore a gown designed together with Herve Pierre. All these dresses throughout the years seemed to have boiled down to a sleek, modern and straight-to-the-point style; maybe as reflected in her approach to the first lady post?
