Maison Margiela’s Spring 2018 Couture

Designer John Galliano presents ‘Artisanal’ a relaxed glamour-theme in his Spring 2018 couture in Paris this week. The collection boasts trippy holography, PVC fabrics, prism coat and blue anoraks turned into eveningwear that challenged couture with sporty wear. That’s not all, audience were encouraged to turn on their phone’s camera flash to “freeze the glamour” of the fabrics. The makeup itself also deemed futuristic and gothic by Pat McGrath and hair by Eugene Souleiman.

Dior’s Haute Spring 2018 Couture

Against the black-and-white mirrored checkboard at Musée Rodin, Dior presented its Spring/Summer 2018 during Haute Couture fashion week in Paris this week. Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s latest collection is a celebration of craftsmanship with 72 looks that features myriad of stunning designs like surrealist cage motif in sharply constructed skirt of wide illusion black and white followed by organza and tulle dress with froth of layered feathers and sharp tuxedo with tie worn with lapel cape tops and paired with insta-worthy mask created by British milliner Stephen Jones.

Chanel’s Haute Spring 2018 Couture

Chanel upped the ante for its haute couture. Opting for classic French garden at the iconic Grand Palais as its setting, Karl Lagerfeld sent out 69 looks for Spring/Summer 2018 encompassing of pretty gowns, boucle suits, skirts and floral lace dresses with embellished details, cuts and, of courses, feathers. The highlight of the show besides its voluminous and exceptional clothing is watching 16-year-old model Kaia Gerber making her couture debut in a powder pink dress.

Elton John wore a Gucci black satin notch lapel jacket with green insect jacquard motif, black T-shirt, black wool mohair trousers and black leather ankle boots with “EJ” initials and lizard details.

Givenchy Haute Spring 2018 Couture

After being Givenchy’s first female creative director, Clare Waight Keller made her first couture debut in Paris Haute Couture week. The collection is classy with bold features that include both couture wear for men and women, for the first time. From black-and-white coats with feathered gowns and multi-coloured skirt for the women and net shirt over rubber neon blue raincoat for men.

Hedi Slimane Enters Céline

After his surprising departure from YSL, designer Hedi Slimane is tapped to head Céline’s Creative and Image Director after Phoebe Philo’s shocking exit last month. "I am delighted to join Bernard Arnault [Chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton] in this all-embracing and fascinating mission for Céline. I greatly look forward to returning to the exciting world of fashion and the dynamism of the ateliers,” said Hedi in a statement.  

Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall 2018

Kim Jones made quite an exit at Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2018 for his last show during Men’s Paris Fashion Week. The collection itself boasts tailored cuts, sleek silhouettes and oversized outerwear with printed tights and shiny fabrics with gorgeous hiking boots. Making his final bow, Kim Jones featured iconic supermodel Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, both wearing monogramed trench coats and hiking boots, who marked the first time Jones included women in the line-up.

Milan Fashion Week: Moschino Fall 2018

Moschino launched its gender-blur Fall 2018 collection during Milan’s Fashion Week. The show featured male and female models walking down the runway in latex masks, latex gloves and knee-length biker boots accompanying an array of clothing that are jaw-dropping-ly kinky. Male models dressed in frilly dressing gown while women in suspenders; male model in tiered tulle cape and female in boxy jackets with masculine fronts. Designer Jeremy Scott ends the fashion show with what he called “tandem tux”: short-haired male and female models wore bare-chested jackets joined at the tail.

Milan Fashion Week: Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2018

During this week’s Milan Fashion Week, Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana presented its #DGmillennials on the runway. Held at the Rinascente Piazza Duomo Milano, the show introduced its latest collection called King’s Angels, featuring the brand's Sicilian DNA, gorgeous silhouettes finished with graphic prints, florals, sequins, animal prints, and jacquard along with velvet in a colourful palette.

Milan Fashion Week: Versace Fall 2018

Donatella Versace introduced stunning variety for this season's collection, shown in both menswear and womenswear on the catwalk during Milan Fashion Week 2018. The runway was filled with the brand’s iconic Medusa print with animal print stripes in overcoats, tartan, kilts and thigh-high along with red and blue suiting. For footwear, we saw 2 Chainz’s sneakers, gold-buckled black boots and gold-edged heels.

Kim Jones Exits Louis Vuitton

After six years since he first joined the luxury fashion house, designer Kim Jones is reported to leave Louis Vuitton. The designer is known for his herculean work that propelled the French fashion house to become one of the top menswear brands along with his memorable collaboration with brands like Supreme and Nike. There is no news where Kim Jones is heading next.

Etro’s 50th Anniversary

The Italian fashion house celebrates its 50th anniversary in style. The celebratory collection titled Dandy Detour embodied Etro’s strong, eclectic and masculine styles where the new collection boasts autumn designs and colours crafted from rich textiles, like unique tapestry and carpet-making method, with a tribute to the classic 70s era.

Kendall Jenner x DSquared2 Controversy

Dubbed as the highest-paid supermodel in the moment, Kendall Jenner sparked yet another controversy when she walked for Canadian fashion label DSquared2 and uploaded a picture of her wearing the coat on her Instagram page. With Gucci and Michael Kors joining the fur free movement, many are criticising the Canadian brand for producing a fur coat as well as at Kendall for setting a poor example.

Balmain Spring/Summer Campaign’ 18

It’s the season to be Balmain! The French fashion house has unveiled a new Spring/Summer 2018 of its collection. Shot by Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, the new ad features cut-and-spliced images of models posing at the breathtaking Château de Baronville echoing the brand’s rebellious attitude, diversity and the singular tailoring.

Hermès spring-summer 2018 women’s ready-to-wear collection designed by Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski embodies pure forms and graphic playfulness. The Spring/Summer 2018 collection features Scottish plaid, woven blouson, outerwear made of ultra-light textiles along with Grand Manège scarf designed by Henri d’Origny. The collection also comes in warm and cool colours like from black toblue black, wet blue, ultraviolet, pink granite to Hermès red.

Miu Miu’s Spring 2018 Campaign

Miu Miu’s Spring 2018 campaign titled "Return to Arcosanti" features a handful of social activist individual, such as actress Elle Fanning of Real Girl, model Adwoa Aboah of Gurls Talk, Edie Campbell and Cameron Russell. The models posed against Paolo Soleri’s 1970s architecture in central Arizona as the backdrop and features floral pattern dress, embroidered pieces and elegant sling handbags.


Dior’s Spring/Summer 2018 Campaign

Luxury fashion house Dior has unveiled its new spring/summer collection 2018 with renowned fashion photography Patrick Demarchelier. The new campaign evokes the 60s era that creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration from and stars model Sasha Pivovarova sporting the brand’s new clothing that includes a long-sleeve tee with a “Why have there been no great women artists?” slogan. The new campaign translates the collection’s theme: artistic, feminine and cheekily playful, and it also features the brand’s handbags: Dior Addict, D-Fence and Lady Dior.

Tom Ford’s Boys & Girls Lipsticks

Following his earlier lipstick collection Lips & Boys, Tom Ford has launched another collection of clutch-sized lipsticks titled Boys & Girls with 100 ranges of shades. The new lipstick features creamy, matte, sheer and metallic finishes with soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil.

Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2018 Campaign

Valentino’s new spring/summer 2018 ad campaign will surprise just about anyone! Captured by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the new campaign fronts supermodel Gigi Hadid wearing silky frocks from the brand’s last PFW collection and against an enlarged red logo and bold, fiery red eyeshadow. The campaign also features other models like Adut Akech, Aurora Talarico, Felice Noordhoff, Oumie Jammeh and Rianne Van Rompaey.

Coach x Selena Gomez Spring/Summer 2018 

Continuing their partnership, actress and singer Selena Gomez fronts another new Coach ad campaign. The new spring/summer 2018 collection sees Selena against the Manhattan skyline resting on a window ledge and sporting Coach’s quilted leather bag in a beaded slip dress and lensed by fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
