Singapore-born Hans Huang has a lengthy background in entertainment following his winning titles during his early years, including Asia Bagus. Today, Hans is the founder of a music school and H2 Event management, a born-natural Master of Ceremonies, and an exclusive singer at high-end events in Jakarta and Asia.
He developed his passion for art during his early days. Educated at California State University, Hans graduated with a bachelor’s degree in piano and a master’s degree in voice. Upon completing his education, Hans began his career in Los Angeles as a Broadway singer and a piano teacher. He was the only Asian singer who was able to perform countertenor in LA and made several appearances in well-known venues across the city.
Other than his passion for singing and performing, Hans is an avid traveller who jumps at every available opportunity to get out of the country. Most of his recent trip was cruised to the end of the world: Antartica.
In an exclusive interview at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, Hans said that his mother has been the most inspirational figure to him.
"The gift she gave me was one she never gave herself. She always instilled in me that no matter what may happen, as long as you believe in yourself and hope for only good things, you will find your way. Personally, as long as we work hard, remain positive, and maintain our own dignity, nothing will ever stop us from achieveing our goals in life," he says.
Today, Hans is one of the society’s most uplifting souls and a person full of spirit and life. He is frequently seen at the city’s most elite events, either entertaining guests with his androgynous voice, a quality that he is extremely proud of and which has won him awards such as the Sony Achievement Award, or as a lively guest.
In 2013, he was named an ambassador of the World Health Organization, and in 2016, an ambassador of Yayasan Sumbing: a government organisation that provides medical treatment to children and adults with cleft palates. He is also the ambassador for the Jakarta beauty clinic Madeline as well as for global beauty companies such as Marie France Bodyline, Svenson, and Bella Skin.
