Video mapping at MONAS
The government of Jakarta has organised a series of video-mapping activities at MONAS during the Asian Games 2018. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has expressed his wish that the video mapping will not only entertain citizens of Jakarta but also all Asian Games 2018 participants. The 20-minute video mapping will be displayed every weekend throughout the length of the Games.
Lantern festival at Ancol
Through the Asian Games 2018 this year, Ancol Dreamland will be transformed from a beach into an Asian-themed cultural festival. Some things to expect including an arts show, a culinary bazaar, and a lantern festival. The Asian Lantern festival, which begins this Friday, will last until the end of the Asian Games in September, when unique lanterns with the flags and landmarks of Asian countries such as India’s Taj Mahal and Singapore’s Merlion will be shown.
Asian culture show at Ancol
Another highlight is an Asian culture show that will last from August 16 to September 2 and which will include various performances such as a traditional costume parade, traditional dance performances, and a culinary bazaar presenting food from all over Asia.
Discount shopping days
Retail junkies will be happy to hear that to celebrate the 73rd commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17, a nationwide shopping festival is happening across the country as discount shopping days take place from August 8 to September 2, featuring more than 500 top retail businesses. Shoppers will be treated to discounts of up to 73 per cent off, and a lot more unique discounts and bonus offers.
Sports and heritage photo exhibition at Kempinski
